Ashgates are supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young during 2012-13.
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die suddenly due to undiagnosed heart conditions. To reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (also known as Sudden Death Syndrome and SADS) CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY also supports those young people diagnosed with a life-threatening cardiac condition via its myheart support network; and offers bereavement support to families affected by a young sudden cardiac death. CRY publishes and distributes (free of charge) medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY also funds fast track services at the CRY Centre for Cardiac Pathology at the Royal Brompton Hospital; and the CRY Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions and Sports Cardiology at St George’s Hospital, London.
