ASHGATES INCREASE STAFF NUMBERS BY OVER 7%

Ashgates are delighted to have taken on four additional members of staff in the last 2 months to allow for continued growth within the firm.

Two of the new recruits were Andrew Boston and Lewis Warren, the winner and the runner up of the Kaplan Financial (AAT) Scholarship Scheme.  Kaplan provide a very competitive scholarship scheme for AAT training, which allows the winner to benefit from free training throughout their AAT (accountancy apprenticeship) and then through further accountancy qualifications, such as ACA or ACCA.

Ashgates were involved on the judging panel for the scholarship scheme and therefore had an insight into the high level of candidates that were competing for places and took full advantage by making job offers to the top two.  Andrew Lyon, Director of Ashgates said “We are delighted that both candidates saw the potential for career development with our strong independent regional firm.  It is great for Ashgates to secure such top quality trainees, and great for the candidates to join a growing firm where they will get fully rounded training and development.”

Ashgates also took on Stephanie Blount, as a trainee in their internal accounting and administration department.  Stephanie will also commence AAT studies and once she has had some experience within our administration team will hopefully move over to produce accounts for clients as her studies progress further.

Finally, Ashgates welcome back a member of staff after a year with a larger practice.  Jonathon Williamson left Ashgates just over a year ago to join one of the top ten national firms operating in the East Midlands.  However he found the “grass was not greener” and is delighted to be back with the Ashgates team as he nears completion of his ACCA studies and looks to continue his career progression.
